Fancy How to Clean Your Shirts Vibes
Hey, everyone! Today, I’ve got a pretty special story to share with you all. A Fancy shopper reached out to me with a question—or more like a bit of feedback—about the quality of their product.
Since all our products are made with high-quality standards, I was, of course, curious. It’s super important to me to get to the bottom of any issue quickly and effectively because, as my dad always says, “A happy customer is a returning customer.”
So, I hopped into our chat system to talk to Kevin (name changed, of course). His problem? The design on his shirt had started to wear off. After a quick Q&A session, I was able to rule out that the shirt arrived that way. And since the image looked a bit familiar, I already had a hunch about what might’ve happened.
I asked him how he’d washed the shirt, and at what temperature. And voila! it was exactly what I thought.
Turns out it was our “Muhkuhli” shirt.
Kevin had washed the shirt at 194°F (90°C). Now, some designs can handle that, but not all. And in this case, the result looked like this:
personal note: he even killed the whole bright colour :-O
Dear Fancy Shoppers, one of the reasons we don’t print on baby clothes (we get asked this pretty often!) is because baby clothes tend to get washed on super high heat. Some of our imprints are integrated into the fabric itself, while others are printed on top - but in either case, anything that's not pure white can look pretty different after a run at 194°F (90°C). :-)
We went ahead and sent Kevin a new Muhkuhli as a courtesy - after all, no one should go without their Muhkuhli. But here’s a gentle reminder for all of you: Please follow the washing instructions on your products! We even have wool products, and if you throw those in at 194°F (90°C), well... let’s just say you’ll have something that might fit a baby!
But really, if in doubt, ask your moms - moms know best! They’re pros at this stuff! In that spirit - happy washing!
